‘CHIONIADES PAINTERS’

A temporary exhibition design project

Design of the exhibition titled ‘Chioniades Painters’ (folk painters from the Chioniades village in Epirus) that took place at the Herman Spierer building, now housing the Municipality’s historical archive. Subsequently, the exhibition was adapted for presentation at the Byzantine Museum of Thessaloniki and the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens, with support from the Municipality of Volos and the Ministry of Culture.

A ‘paper’ envelope helped shape the exhibition spaces, thus setting the stage for the sensitive drawings of the Chioniades painters, which were displayed on stretches of semi-translucent plexiglas panels.
