It all started from an urge to make an artwork as a present to a friend. I was at my family home for a short stay and due to lack of other available materials the idea dawned on me to paint on plaster that was pulling away from the walls of the house, very much at my father’s despair.
This led to an entire series of paintings, drawing on memories of my childhood — as little children we used to tell each other stories while scratching “crucial” details with a nail on the wall.
